Celebrating fifty years of piano playing

I had my first piano lesson in 1975. I had a slow teacher and no one was in a hurry so I passed my grades every two to three years. Eventually I passed my Grade 8 in 1998 and my diploma in piano teaching in 2014. Playing in public has been a bit sporadic. I played in folk clubs from 1991 to 1994, with my mum and my aunt singing in the late nineties and I played classical piano pieces in public for ten years from 2010 to 2020. I taught the piano semi-seriously from 1989 to 2002 and semi-professionally from 2008 to 2019. Health problems led to me giving up teaching in April 2019 and the Covid19 Lockdown stopped me playing the piano in public in 2020. After a break of about a year I decided I would go on to play the piano for myself in my home from 2021 to 2025. I hope me and my piano are still around in 2025 to celebrate 50 years of piano playing.
